How Often Should You Wax Your Car?
Car waxing puts a barrier between your clear coat and everything Atlanta throws at it: pollen, sap, acid rain, UV and road grime. But how often do you need it?
The short answer
Every three to four months for most cars. More often if the car lives outside, less if it's garaged.
How to tell it's time
- Water stops beading. It sheets or sits in flat puddles instead of tight beads.
- The paint feels grabby. A clean microfiber drags instead of gliding.
- Pollen sticks. A rinse doesn't take it off anymore.
Do it right
- Wash thoroughly.
- Clay bar the paint so the wax bonds to a clean surface.
- Apply thin, in the shade, one panel at a time.
- Buff off with a clean microfiber.
