Professional Ceramic Coating Installation: What to Expect
The benefits of a ceramic coating depend on how well it's installed. Here's what to expect from a trusted detailer, step by step.
1. Receiving a quote
Pricing is based on how many years of protection you want and how much paint correction the car needs first. We want the paint at its best before we seal it in. Send photos and we'll quote your car.
2. Surface preparation
The car is washed and decontaminated to remove dirt, grease, iron fallout and any old wax or sealant, so the coating bonds to bare clear coat.
3. Paint correction
Polishing removes swirl marks, marring and light scratches: the spider webs you see under the sun or a street lamp. We always recommend correction before a coating or PPF so the protection locks in the best possible finish.
4. Applying the coating
Your Gtechniq coating is applied panel by panel. With the 5-year option, we add a 2-year Gtechniq layer on top for extra protection. After it cures, we add a ceramic sealant on top, a step manufacturers recommend and many installers skip.
5. Final inspection
Our technicians inspect the finish, address any residue or imperfections, and hand the car back.
6. Aftercare
You'll get instructions on the soaps to use, how to dry the car, and when to schedule maintenance visits so the coating lasts its full term. How to maintain a ceramic coating.
